A Slidell, LA native, Dawn graduated from Salmen High School. After Salmen, Dawn attended Louisiana Tech University. During her time a Louisiana Tech, she served as the philanthropy chair for Delta Gamma sorority. Working as a paralegal, Dawn enjoyed helping others with business support and estate planning. For eleven years she was the CEO of the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce and led the organization to a 5 Star Accredited Chamber winning many awards for its achievements through her vision and leadership. She is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Northshore, instructed for the program and served on the Board of Trustees for many years. She is a founding member of the Kiwanis Club of Camellia City and a member of the Louisiana Notary Association.
She has been involved in many civic organizations, including Slidell Women’s Civic Club, American Heart Association Walk Leader, American Cancer Society Walk Leader, and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Volunteer. She is a certified instructor for Junior Achievement Program and enjoys teaching 2nd graders about civic involvement and the community. She is a past Rotarian and receiver of a Paul Harris Fellow, Instructor and Board Member of the Center for Chamber of Commerce Excellence and the Louisiana State Chamber Association, Past President and member of the Business & Professional Women, and life member of the Junior Auxiliary of Slidell.
Dawn transitioned to the insurance industry and joined the Allen and Smith team in the summer of 2020. She has a passion for helping people and serving her local communities.
Away from the office
Married to Charles Klepfer, owner of CiCi’s Pizza in Slidell.
Mother of two young men, Zackary and James, her grandchild calls her “DiDi”.
She has hosted students from Finland during an International Biddy Basketball Tournament and one of the girls returned as an exchange student residing with Dawn and family for a year, she is proud to be the US-Mom of her Finland daughter, Jemina Harju.
